VULVA AWARENESS CAMPAIGN ORGANISATION

National Cancer Institute

I have supported a lot of Ladies from the US and through listening to them about not knowing who to turn to for help is why I am trying to get as much quality information, support and help as I can to help reduce the stress you have to go trying to find the information you want.

I hope the information on this page will help direct you to the appropriate information, support and help you need, without you having to spend many hours searching yourself.

I am still working on this information and it will be added as and when I find more quality information for you.

If you know of a service available in the US which is not on this page, please email me the details at vacouk@yahoo.co.uk and I will be happy to add it to this page.

I think the first place you should look for information on vulval cancer is the NCI

They can be contacted a few ways, the first being their website at

http://www.cancer.gov/ this will take you to their homepage which lists all the different cancer types.

Other Excellent Information

There are so many websites it is hard to know which are the best ones, it can be very confusing and distressing if you have just been diagnosed and are looking for good quality and honest information. The following ones are ones I have found and as a patient I think these are all excellent websites and contain up to date information and what to expect with your diagnosis and surgery.

http://www.fccc.edu/cancer/types/gynecological/vulva.html

This website by Fox Chase Cancer Centre is one of the best I have seen. Fox Chase is a cancer treatment centre whose doctors specialise in cancer; and they are experts in particular types and the doctors' expertise will match the type of cancer you have.

They also are one of few who offer and also accept that reconstruction surgery may well improve the quality of a Ladies life.
